The municipal elections which have taken place throughout England during the past few days, show considerable gain to the Tories. The latter's successes are believed to hare been dae to the support of the Irish ratepayers. RETURN OF TROOPS FROM THE CAPE Troopships have been chartered to convey to England and India tbe moiety of British troops now stationed at Natal. RELEASE OF IRISH AGITATORS. T. Sexton, M.P. for Sligo, who has been lodged in Killmallook gaol since tbe 14th ultimo, for seditious conduct, has been released, owing to ill-health. TREATY OF COMMERCE BETWEEN FRANCE AND ITALY. Paris, November 1. It is expected that a treaty of commerce will shortly be concluded between France and Italy.
