MOVEMENTS AT THE FRONT.
[telegraphed bt our special reporter.] Pungarehu, November 3—11.13 a.m.— Mr. Bryce, Col. Roberts, and staff left camp early this morning to reconnoitre in the vicinity of Parihaka. They were accompanied by Major Tuke, Major Pitt, Captains Newall, Gordon, and Major Goring, under escort of Captain Davidson and Mounted Rifles.
Mr. Kolleston arrived in camp at 10 a.m. to-day.
Captain H. Taylor arrived last night from Manaia. There are now a, large number of officers in the camp, and a large number of promotions have been made among the noncommissioned officers in the A.C. Force.
Considerable dissatisfaction prevails on account of many of the junior sergeants being appointed over the seniors.
Major Pitt is appointed in command of all the volunteers at Rahotu and Pungarehu, and Captain Webb is appointed adjutant.
Two hundred and fifty of the Wellington Volunteers arrived at Rahotu this morning from Opunake, and preparations are being made for the arrival of the men to-morrow. —Received Nov. 4 at 12.23 a.m.
