RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TUESDAY, June 14.— Before C. E. Rawson, Esq.. R.M. Hastings v. Humphries. Claim £100, being a debt of honor. — Mr. Samuel appeared for the defendant, the plaintiff appearing in person. Mr. Samuel objected that the particulars of demand did not disclose a valid cause of action. — The plaintiff was non-suited with costs. Judgment for Plaintiffs. — H. King v. JaneMacKay, £1 3.5. 6,1.; Brooking v. Martin, £17 ss. ; same v. Shaw, £7 10s. ; H. Ford v. J. Reynolds, £5 145.; W. Baylv v. A. M. Reynolds £12165v9J.; Chew Chong v. J. Kaobbs. £6 1 6s. 2d. Judgment S; i jons.— J. C. George v. M J. Mi Idlcton. Mr. Roy appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. Hughes for defendant. — The plaintiff was examined and said that the defendant had not paid any part of the judgment recovered against her, which amounted to £75 4s. The debt was contracted for goods supplied by plaintiff to defendant. The defendant afterwards mortgaged the goods to the Loan Agency Company before s'.ie paid for them. — The defendant stated that she had been unable to satisfy the judgment as she had sustained heavy losses. She lost £150 by Mr. Hamerton's failure, and £100 by Mr. Johansson's failure. She also lost by the Bank of New Zealand intimidating a tenant she had in her hou>e, which was mortgaged to the Bank. She did not make anything out of her boar ling-house. — Defendant was ordered to pay £10 per month, or in default. 21 days imprisonment.
