Melbourne, April 29. A cargo of Mauritius sugar per barque Gabrielle Alice, sold to-day at fall pric93. The arrivals of Mauritius sugar aro expected to be small. Sailed : Union Company's s.s. Albion for New Zealand. The announcement that passengers from Melbourne will bo quarantined at Adelaide is deemed
premature, as there are only a few cases of measles in Victoria at the present time. The Orient Company's steamship Horata, which leaves Melbourne on the 4th May, will take tho Suez mails brought from Now Zealand by the Rotoraahana, but which missed tho P. & O. Company's steamship Assam, outward bound yesterday. At the Cabinet Council held yesterday, it was resolved to introduce an Amending Land Bill during next session of Parliament, with a view of relieving selectors from the hardships they are suffering uuder the present law. Sydney, April 29. In the Legislative Assembly, Fitzpatrick's motion of censure on the Government for refusing to legislate on tho question of mining on private property, was negatived by a large majority.
