ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL VIA SUEZ.
[by electric cable] Albany, July 10. — Tho P. and O. Company's steamer Siam has arrived. She brings the following summary of mail news : — The reign of terror in Russia still continues. ♦ Numerous incendiary fires are re. ported, aud numerous arrests of Nihilists of both sexes havo taken place. A plot has been discovered to destroy several large cities by fire. The eruption of Mount Etna still continues, and several villages have, been overwhelmed by lava, but no loss o? life is reported. The Burmese news is reassuring. The report of the hostile attitude of bho Kinif is groundless. A dreadful famine is raging in Gashmere. The movement of the Dacoits in the Bombay Presidency has collapsed. Yakoob Khan has returnod to Cabul. Colonel Cavagnari has been appointed British resident at Cabul.
