RECREATION GROUNDS BOARD.
Tins Board met on Friuuy evening last. Present: Messrs. Ford, Colson, Gilmour, Davis, Hughes, and Collins. — Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed. — Correspondence read. Treasurer reported that subscriptions amounted to £55. — Mr. COLSON moved. Mr. Davis seconded, and it was agreed to, "That the thanks of the Board are due to Mr. Hood and other gentlemen who so liberally responded to the call of the Board for subscriptions; aud the Board would invite those gentlemen who have not yet contributed to come forward and do so.' I—Mr.1 — Mr. Gilmour moved, Mr. COLLINS seconded, nnd it was carried, "That tho Bonrd desire to convey their thanks to the nurserymen and ladies and gentlemen for their extremely liberal contributioiiß of shrubs and plants; and to the Town Band for their gratuitous services on the planting of the first tree." — Moved by Mr. Davis, seconded by Mr. COLLINS, nnd agreed to, "That the Acclimatization Society of Taranaki bo iuvited to cooperate with the Board in furthering tho object, contemplated. — On the motion of Mr. Colson, tho Secretary wns requested to call for tenders for findiug rails aud labour in erecting dividing fence between grounds and Brooklands. — Mcetiug adjourned on motion of Mr. Hughes, to Friday, the sth August.
