The news bus a terrible interest in the destruction of thn city of Sacramento, by a confl ignition, which broke out during n strong «iml, on the night of the 2.1 of November, nnd in a few hours swept away in burning ashes 2500 bui'dings, extending over 170 ncrcß of ground. The following account of this frightful occurrence is extracted from the Snn Francisco Herald: — Tho file, broko out in the inillmrry shop oT Madim Linos, on .J street, neir the cirncr of Fourth street. With astoiiijliinj rapidity the firo spread from br.ilding to building, up, down, nnd across the sticct in five minute*!. The Crescent City Hotel, on the opposite Ride of the street, Wfti in flames, and sent the fiery torrent in ovcry direction, Tho number of lives ascertained to lost are six.
