WELLINGTON.
We have received our files of the " Independent" and " Spectator" to the sth instant. There is little of interest beyond the Home news extracted from the London and Liverpool papers which arrived by the Bee-
; ppnii- if Sjdney on ()ie Clli J.minrj. — ' This iriiv.il fitrnislios intelligence to the Hlh of Oc(ol>pr, being twelve days later Lhan that which had been previously received. The English intelligence which is of ratlicr an intciesling character will be found in another pail of our journal. Our contemporaiy has an aiticlc on home politics which suggests a coming change in the Government of the Mothei -Country — a junction between the Peel-Graham parly and the late Russell tidministrntion ; but all is conjecture, although the piobability is not a remote one. The French news brought by these arrivals is of a very menacing character. The early eslablishmcnl of the Empire seems beyond a doubt, and the arsenals of France show more extensive preparations and activity than peaceful relations are consideied to requne.
