CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

MEETING OF DIRECTORS.

A meeting of the Board of Directors was held last evening, in the board room of the Dominion Theatre. Present: Mr A. Bain (president), Messrs S. Goddard, G. Hancox, H. H. Hutcheson, J. Freddy, W. Moore, J. Henry, Geo. Paterson, D. O’Connor, J. R. Watson. W. P. Evans, C. L. Fraser, D. White, W. McCullough, E. O. Shaw, T. E. Shiels, G. Higinbottom, and the secretary (Mr R. H. Taylor). Mr W. Seeler sent an apology'. CORRESPONDENCE. Mr G. Tozer wrote (accepting the position of timekeeper. From the secretary of the South Canterbury Centre, Piping and Dancing Association, undertaking to see that the Society gets a supply of rule hooks. From Mr F, Wilson, applying for 24 feet frontage space for a chocolate alley.—Left in hands of committee, From Mr W. Cargo, accepting appointment as judge of the bagpipe music. From the Area Officer, granting the application for the Drill Hall for Boxing Day, and forwarding receipt. Tenders in regard to programme printing were left in the hands of (he executive. With regard to luncheon on Boxing Day, as all the local caterers were Loo busy, the secretary waited on Mrs Arthur Taylor, who agreed to do the work.—Left to the subcommittee. It was proposed to start the procession on Boxing Day at 10.45. The directors agreed to meet on tlie ground at 8 a.m. on Boxing Day, to set out the track and see to other details. . The engagement of gate men was left in the hands of the secretary; gate men to be notified that they are to assist at the end of the day in clearing up the ground. The lending of flags was left in the hands of Messrs W. F. Evans and G. Hancox. Mr L. Hunt’s tender for medals was accepted. It was reported that there were between 50 and 60 entries for the cycling, 14 for wood-chopping, and 12 for running.
