FIRST GRADE

TBMUKA v. HIGH SCHOOL B

High School B. met Temuka at Temuka on Saturday, and the visitors were given an afternoon in the held, for Temuka compiled the good total of 237. Saunders and Grieve were the opening batsmen, Dixon and Hind taking up the attack. Both batsmen attacked the bowling from the ■ start, and scored freely. With the total at 36, Saunders was cauglit by Dixon, off Wilson, he having scored 12. Stone-Wigg joined Grieve, and after adding a further 15 runs, Grieve went Ibw to Wilson. His total of 21 included one six and three fours. Ball and Chapman made a fine stand for the fifth wicket, carrying the total from 67 to 206. Ball contributed 80 before being bowled by Hind. His total included two sixes and nine fours. Chapman just managed to reach the half-century, when he was bowled by Martin. He hit four boundaries. Turner was the only remaining batsman to reach double figures. Martin, who sent down eight overs, was the most successful of the School bowlers, taking four wickets for 37 runs. Hind bowled 32 overs, and look three wickets for 66 runs.

High School did not make a very promising atari, having lost four wickets for Hi when stumps were drawn. Wilson was dismissed for 5, but Morrison and Hind both reached double figures. Ball took (hreo of the four wickets.
