TEMUKA DISTRICT NEWS. The majority of the wheat crops are now in stock, and threshing is starting at Waitolhi to-duy.. . Most, of the early delivery orders seem to he filled, and prices are only nominal, hut it is understood that 2d per bushel more than nominal rates can he secured for February delivery. Merchants are not buying freely, and in most cases require the wheat put under offer to them for a day or two so that they can place it before buying. Sales arc reported in Teuuika district as follows; —-Tuscan 5/S, Hunters (1/-, Velvet 0/3 lor prompt delivery. Chaff is dull with little business passing, and is quoted at £3 ss, sacks extra. At this figure business was done on Saturday. There is an inquiry for a few tons of old .chaff at £5,-sacks in for prompt delivery. -Ryegrass is quiet,,, sales being made at 3/- for. Perennial and 1/10 for Western Woltha. A sale of cocksfoot took place yesterday at Old per lb, but it is understood this price is only for good bright, heavy seed. Merchants are not in the market for potatoes and they are nominally quoted at £3 per ton, sacks in. There., id ,no mqyeiinenl in oats, and a few ■ sales ate reported at 2/6 for A.' .
