MOTHERS’ UNION.

TEMUKA BRANCH. A very successful meeting of the Temuka branch of the Mothers’ Union took place on Tuesday last in the Parish Hall. Mrs G. Nelli am Watson presided, and fifty-four ladies were present, including members of the Winchester and Temuka Ladies’ Guilds, who were specially invited to attend. . A: most interesting address was delivered by Sister Margaret, of St, Anne’s' Home, Christchurch, who gave a description of the work of the Home and their need of financial help. Members of the Union brought presents of groceries towards the store cupboard of St. Anne’s, which were accepted and gratefully acknowledged by Sister Margaret. , At the conclusion of the address, a- hearty vote of thanks to the speaker' was proposed by Mrs Watson and carried. ’ Afternoon tea was theuiserved by members, of the committee, and this brought the meeting to a close. T3ie" nfeSt meeting is to be held o’tt the 7th September.
