Something decidedly unique in the way of Church entertainment will be presented in the Methodist Church fhis evening, in connection with the Methodist Synod. Several of the ministers in session possef* gifts of a high order, and it is proposed to present a programme of items given entirely by, the ministers. Rev. J. H. In addition to a brief history of military operations in the area represented by the Memorial,, the register contains family and regimental details of each soldier buried there. While it is felt that the relatives of the fallen would not desire that these records should be offered for open .sale, it is thought that some who are specially interested may wish to possess a copy, and a limited number of the registers have been * reserved for this purpose. Dr. Telford, Medical Officer of Health, evidently has a keen sense of humour, and 'humour is not usually found in official documents. In a letter to the Geraldine Borogh Council read on Tuesday evening, the doctor,'referring to an argument used by that body that, despite an almost complete lack of drainage, many people now look upon Geraldine as a health resort, etc., replied that the Garden of Eden was a glorious place-;—until something happened. The pipe connection: between the Geraldine' Downs water, works and Raukapuka was made’ on Tuesday, when the piping was laid across the Geraldine traffic bridge at the north end of the town. , There was a good. attendance last considering 4he weather conditions, at the Grand -Bazaar h<?ld under the auspices of the Oddfellows’ Lodge, at the Drill Hall, Temuka. Mr J. K. Young called on the Mayor; "Mr G. B. Cartwright, to open the bazaar, and in a felicitous speech Mr . Cartwright expressed the hope that the bazaar would be a most successful one. A glance around the -hall showed numerous tastefully decorated stalls loaded with attractive, useful articles, from the homely marrow to the most beautiful needlework. The side shows are a feature, and % with the conjuring by Mr Hartley Hope, form an irresistible attraction; to both young and old. • The bazaar continues throughout: to-day, and should be well patronised.Mr John Cook returns thanks in another column to the electors of the Borough of Temuka.
