Miss Tworaey (Wellington) spent last week-end in Temuka. Mrs .1. Guild and Miss Guild left on Wednesday for Christchurch. iMrs Dudley Hay hurst (.Christchurch) is at present with Mrs Hayluirst, ‘ ‘Ashliel d. ” Miss Judith Bradshaw (Waima.te) was the guest of Mrs C. E. Bremner during the week. Miss N. Buxton (Christchurch) is on an extended visit to Temn.ka, and while here will be the guest of Miss Brown, “Dinting House.” Mrs Alan Squires (Edendale) arrived in Temuka on Tuesday, to visit her mother, Mrs D. B. Muir, Railway Terrace. .iMrs L. Asluwell and Miss McCartney returned to Temuka last week, after a delightful holiday spent in touring the North Island. Mrs and Miss Orford (Winchester) are on a visit to Christchurch, ami are staying at Warwick Bouse. Mrs Percy Barker (Geraldine) is the gutest of Miss Moorhouse during her stay in Christchurch. Mrs Z. Freeman has returned to Christchurch after a visit to her sister, Mrs R. Robinson (“Holmwood,” Te Moana). Miss Mabel Blaithwayt, who has been relieving Miss M. Johnstone, Plunket Nurse, Fairlie, while the lather has been away for her annual holiday, has returned to Christchurch for a few days before she goes to Waikari to relieve the Plunket Nurse there. .After a very keenly contested match between Mrs D. Grant and Miss Taylor, for the ladies’ golf championship, Miss Taylor proved to be the winner. Miss Taylor will this year hold the cup, which must be won two years in succession before it becomes anyone’s property. To-day will be the official closing of the Temuka golf links. The season has been a most successful one, and all keen golfers will be sorry to put away their clubs until the opening of the season next year. Nevertheless all good things must come to an end, and with the approaching and putting competitions to be held to-day. a very enjoyable season will close.' Miss Oldfield will dispense afternoon tea.
