Miss Marion IveracTi, of the Temuka District High School, has been informed that she has received honourable mention and been placed fourth on the list for the 1921 Royal Colonial Institute, London, Essay Competition. This ..-competition, is open to all pupils of secondary schools throughout the British Empire, the subject for this year being "The After Effects of the War on the British Empire." The marriage of Lieut. S. Prickleton, V.C., and Miss Valeska Gembitzsky, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Gembitsky, took place on Thursday at Westport. Mr R. A. Heron, a former postmaster of -Geraldine, was in town yesterday renewing acquaintance with his many friends. A Wellington telegram states that the following candidates qualified for Junior Natonial Scholarships:—L. Brice* P. W. Chapman, W. K. Coad, W. R. Edwards, H. I. Hopkins, Olive H. Lovelock, D. G. Sinclair, D: U. White.
