"in view of tho fact that the exhibitions of moving pictures which are so popular with all classes and ages o' the community, may either be of great educational vulue both to head and heart, or to be subtle but effective teachers of immorality and vice, tliii women of the W.C.T.U. Convention assembled urge on the Government thj need of appointing a censor to examine all films proposed to bo publicly exkibited. ''That the Convention desires to record its appreciation of the work of Sir J. 0. Ward and Dr Ehidlay in securing the repeal of the C.I). Act, and also wishes to emphasise the grout need, for more thorough and systematic tenehing of the laws of health and more persistent aflirmntion of the necessity for purity of life both of men and women. "That this Convention urges the Premier to bring in a Bill making it as compulsory to register births, deaths ' and marriages amongst the Maoris as among Europeans. "It having been broublit under our notice that gambling is still carried on by Maori youths under twenty-one, thu i Con vim t ion emphatically protests 'and urges the Government to iilrictly enforce the law. "It also having been brought under oiir notice that liquor is still being mipplicd to youths under twenty-one, aid also tojMaori women.bvf.vindless of thj law, the Convention emphatically protests and urges that the matter be brought under the. notice of the Minister of Justice nncl his subordinates."
