SALE OF "LADYMOOR" FARM, TEMUKA.
Guinness and LeCrcn, Ltd., Tnntiru, report having sold Mr J a mes Benbow » •well-li'iiO'Wrt "fLadymoor" farm, containing U 8 acres 3 roods 33 perches, of deep, rich, wheat-growing and sheep fattening land, together with fine homestead and buildings, situate two miles from Temukn. The property way first submitted by public auction to a largo, attendance of over 150 farm ers. The bidding started at £l7 per acre, and successive bids raised the offer to £2O 10s per a cre, at which fi ure the property was passed in. The farm was then put up in four lots. The homestead block of 19 l J acres, with dwelling and all necessary f a rm buildings, was offered first. There were only two bids of £2O and £2l per acre, and that was passed. A small parcel of 33 acres was passed at the first start bid of £2O. Bidding for the nevt lot of 166 acres started at .113, and ceased at £l9. No salo ■having been effected, the fourth lot of 20 acres was withdrawn. The auctioneer, Mr Shallcrass, said that the I farm would soon be disposed of privately. Immediately afterwards a sale was 'effected for the whole of the proper tv at a verv satisfactory price, the purchaser Iveins ¥r David .Tames Youtiir, farmer, of T e muka, who is telle congratulated on having secured this excellent farm.
