WEDDING AT SOUTHBRIDGE.

McCORMIOK-SILK. j A very pretty wedding took place, on Wednesday recently, (it the church of J St. James, Southbridgo, when Miss Georgie Silk, youngest daughter of the late Mr George Silk, mine, manager, Ulago, and niece of the late Lieutenant Edwin Silk, U.S., Eng., was married to Mr David McCormiek,,, only son of the fate Mr Thomas .McCormiek, of "Shrigly," Little Rakaia. The bridegroom 'being a well-known and very popular resident of Southbridge, the township was crowded with visitors from all parts. Tlio bride Jooked charming in a trained gown of line net, beautifully embroidered, over watered silk foundation. A coronet of wax orange blossoms was worn with a veil of the finest _ net daintily worked, und she carried a bouquet of tho choicest white (lowers. The bridesmaids (Misses Louise Salve.sen and Pessie Smith), nieees of the bride, wore creain silk and laco frocks, and large creain straw" hats trimmed with bows of cream i-ibboiy. They wore gold chains and pendants, thegift of tlio bridegroom. Pouquels of white flowers and autumn leaves, with dreamers of mauve ribbon, were carried. Mr C. E. Bevan-P.rown gave the bride away. Mr W. Scott_ was best man. The church was artistically decorated by lady friends. The Rev. 0. S. Hawkins, of Southbridgc, and th« Rev. P. .)'. Cock«, of Sydenham, Christchuroh, conducted tho service most mpressively. Mr A. inwood. presided at tho organ. The wedding breakfast was held in the Town Hall. After several toasts were- proposed, [Mr and Mrs McCormiek left for the North, with heartiest congratulations from the large assemblage. The bride travelled in a 'dark green coat and skirt, and a fur-lined motor coaH and large green hat with feathers. The presents were useful and co»tly, and included a beautiful bedroom suite and a dinner set, from tho fishermen of Little Rakaia. Mr McCormicfk is a tint cousin of Mrs 11. .1. "Webb, Tcmuka.
