RAUKAPUKA CLEARING SALE.
Messrs Guinness and LeCren, Ltd., report that, in conjunction with the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., they had a most successful sale on Thursday on account of Messrs Campbell Bros., who have disposed the Raukapuka Estate. The attendance was very large, probably not less than GOO being present, many being tempted out, no doubt, by the fine weather and by the wish to see the country. Buyers were present from far and near, with the result that every lot was cleared at very satisfactory prices. Sheep sold as follows :—713 2-shear ewes 16/-, 491 3shear ewes 16/3, 696 full-mouth ewes 13/-, 61 aged ewes 9/-, 70 dry ewes S/-, 571 fat lambs 12/11, 568 store lambs 10/6, 830 store lambs 9/8, 188 4 and 6-tooth wethers 13/8, 223 2,4, and 6-tooth wethers 12/1, 995 2-tooth wethers 9/3, 133 6-tooth wethers 12/9, 180 cull landjs S/-. Horses were of a medium class and made—Gelding, 4yrs, £39, bav gelding £BS 10/-, bay mare £25, bay gelding £24 10/-, bay geldino- £25 10/-, draught gelding 2yrs £l9 10/-, draught filly 2yrs £l4, bay gekling £l4, bav mare £l3 10/-, light draught mare £l3, 2-year-old gelding by To Kooti £ll 10/-. Grand Cross (illy rising 2yrs £lO. Cattle told in lines <it —Steers £3 7/6 to £5 1/-, young sorts at £l, dairy cows, springers up to £S, cows in profit £6, £5, £4 5/-, empty cows £3 15/- to £6 c/.. A large ouantity of implements, sundries, and furniture made fully up to usual sale rates.
