FIRE.
A house owned and occupied by Mr Wm. Rose, beyond Orari Bridge, was burned to the ground at lI. 'M) a.m. yesterday. Mrs Hose, senr., an old lady, an I a child were in the house when tlie lire broke out, and they suinnu tied the assistance of neigh'. but the /lames bad a good hold of the • building, which was reduced to ashes in about a quarter of an hour. The' only articles saved from the house were a few kitchen utensils. Mrs Rose, senr., states that the fire seemed to start in (he dining room, where there was a small tire in- the fireplace. The house that was destroyed was at one time occupied -by Mr E. IL Tcmpler, of Gcraldine, and was situated between Orari Bridge and Cooper's Creek. The building was insured in the Ro vn l ..thee for £IUO, and the. furniture in the same office for CoO.
