TEMUKA GOLF CLUB.

!The following report will be presented to tho annual meeting- of members, to be held in the Social Hall, Temuka} to-morrow evening : in presenting their second annual re- : port the committee have great pleasure in congratulating the members ion the successful season they had, land trust that the coming one will be even better. The membership last season was 52, and your committee expect that with new members the 'number will be. the same, some members having resigned or left Temuka. During the past season the men have played two matches with Timaru, one lost and one drawn ; two with Geraldine, both won ; two with Ashburton, I one lost and one drawn ; and the ladies have played two matches with Timaru, both lost ; 'two with Ashburton, both won ; and one with Waimate, which they also won. A Mixed Four- ! some was also jolayed with Timaru, i and was won by Temuka. During the past season competitions were held for i trophies presented by Miss Guild, Miss Honeyfield, Messrs James, W. Pearse, McLeod, Evans, Bradmore, Johnston, Bushell, and licw J. M. Adcock. The members of the club are much indebted to the donors of the trophies, which helped considerably to keep up tiie interest in tho ir'ame, and the committee trust that there will be trophies offered, for competition this sea--1 son. At the end of last season, the conmiitt.ee decided, in view of the interest taken iii the game, to put down putting greens and fence them, and have much pleasure in stating that, now tho rain has fallen, Ithe greens should be veadv to play about the middle of Anril, when, if possible, the season will be oixmed. The income for the vear was, including the balance brought forward, £2l 6/1, and the expenditure £32 14/7 ; the principal items being cost of pavilion and lining £ll 10/-,'vent £4 4/-, expenditure on putting gre'.'ns, fencing, etc, £lO, leaving a debit balance of £ll S/3, together with outstanding accounts £4, which will necessitate increasing the subscriptions, 'and your committee would ask all members to nav their subscriptions promptly, So that our liabilities may be cleared. In conclusion, tho committee tender their thanks to. the owners of the land played on, and all those who assisted to make the past season so successful.
