ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET
CHRISTCHURCH, June 10. Sheep : Tho entry of store sheep was a very small one, the quality being l of a better class than at recent markets. The entry was made up of wethers, a few lines of good lambs, and several pens of good young' ewes. lor all Classes there was a good demand, and prices as compared with the previous week remained unchanged. In-lamb ewes sold fairly well, prices reaching 16/1 for 1, (5, and S-tooth sheep. Forward wethers sold more freely than at recent ‘markets as also idid store lamfc& Forward lambs made 9/- to 11/3 and others 7/6 ‘to 8/9. There was a very large entry of fat sheep. The range of prices was —Prime wethers 17/6 to ■2l/-, extra to 22/I,\ lighter 14/- to 17/-, prime ewes 14/- to 16/9, extra to 19/6, medium 11/- to 13/6 and aged and inferior 7/- to 10/6.
Pigs : The entries of pigs in all departments were very small. Choppers made from £3 10/- to £5, heavy baconers 60/- to 7‘5/-, lighter 50/- to 58/-, heavy porkers 40/- to 48/-, lighter 30/- to 32/6, weavers elicited good competition, prices ranging from 8/- to 10/6. Cattle : 357 fat cattle were entered, including some lines of exceptionally good quality. Steers made £6 to £ll, extra la £l3 17/6, heifers £5 to £lO/ cows £4 10/- to £9 5/-.
BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET
DUNEDIN, Juno 10. Sheep : 2181 were penned, consisting mostly of medium quality ewes and wethers, with a few pens of extra prime wethers. lor ewes and u'nlinishod sheep prices were a trifle easier, but for good sorts the market was perhaps firmer. Best wethers 19/6 to •21/3, extra to 22/-. medium IT/- to 18/-, inferior f t/- to 16/-, Irest .ewes 17/U, extra 20/-. Fat lambs: 800 were yarded, and the market was well up to' last wok’s average. Best 15/9 to lfi/9, extra 17/0, ordinary freezing lines 11/0 to 15/-, Cattle : 200 were yarded ; on the whole the quality was slightly better than last weak. Beat bullocks tM) _to CIO 'l7/0, medium C-7 15/- to IS 15/-.
DUNEDIN CRAIN MARKET. Whea t : The market is quiet, 1 I'm - huts ideas of values' being higher than millers’ offers. Prime milling l/“ to d/s, fowl wheat 1/6, broken 1/- to 1/2. Oat ; Shippers are not operating and buyers are. well supplied in the meantime, but prices keep linn. Prime seed lines to 2/9, prime milling ~/o lo 2/54, best feed 2/14 to 2/5, medium 2/3 to 2/1, per bushel.
