THE RECENT BAD WEATHER.
$ AUCKLAND, July 23. The auxiliary schooner May Howard which has arrived at Hokiauga from Auckland, lost two anchors and her foresail, and had her cabin doors smashed by a heavy sea during the gale. The scow Hawk, which has arrived at Hokiauga, after a voyage of 21 days from Gisborne, reports very heavy weather. WOODYiLLE, July 23. The recent Hoods in the MaiurwntLi river changed the course to the northern bank u t Ngawapuna, where tha bridge rests on wooden piers. A gang of nun was working all yesterday streinrthening the piers. WHANGAItEI, July 23. The recent Hoods wrought great havoc at Grahauistowii railway extension, scarcely a cutting escaping damage, while a long passage through I'ah Hill, which has taken, years to form, is now choked by huge landslips.
