CHRISTUHUIICH. STOCK MARKET. At the Addiugton y»rds on Wednesday considering that there will be no sale ui'xt week, the entries were small, but quite sufficient for requirements. Fat Cattle—lG7 fat cattle were yarded, including a fair proportion of good steers. Che marker, opened at last week's rates, but improved by Is to Is 6d per ]oolb. Good to prime beef r 22s, 25s ; other, 17s 6s, 21h ; best steers, £9 to £lO 17s Gd ; others, £7 2a Gd to £8 10a; heifers, £5 15s to £8 15s; cows, £5 15s to £8 17& Gd. Fat Sheep- 3500 fat sheep, mostly good sorts, were penned, including a few choice pens for ; hristmas. These were in keen demard, Acton Estate Downs, and cross bred wethers making 23s to 30s, and Mr J. Johu's Downs 235. A Hue of .North Island wethers, only landed the previous day, sold at los to 16a 9d. Freezers were Duly operated in moderately, but about 900 were taken for export at 14s to 15s. Butchers' sorts sold irregularly. Ordinary wethers, 13s to 16s; best ewes, 13s to 15s Cd ; ordinary, 0i to 12s; inferior, 4s lOd to 8s ; very prime merino wethers, 17s Gd ; ordinary, 8a 2d to 10s. Fat Lambs—Two thousand fat lambs were penned, mostly of good quality, and a good sale was had, about half being for "xport at 12s Id to 14s lOd, the majoritj making 13s Gd to 14s. The balance went 10 butchers at 10a 6dto 1 3s for seconds y, auc up to 15s od for prime. Store Sheep—ln store sheep 1520 name forward, nearly all ewes with lambs, which sold better owing to the late rains, which are improving feed prospects. Two-tooth ewes, with lambs, 81 2d to lis 6d, and iged ewes with lambs 6s 6d to 10s (all counted); hoggets, lis Bd. Pig H —500 pigs were penned. Fats maintained late rates ; baconers, 34a to 49s (3jd per lb) ; porkers, 23s to 30a Gd (3id to 3|d). Stores were we iker ; larger sorts 14s to 20s; suckers and woauers 5s to 93. ____ PRODUCE MARKETS. The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday:— Wheat— .11 lots of wheat offered are readily taken up. Prime milling, 3s to 3s 2d ; medium, 2s lOd to 3s ; fowl wheat, 2b 9d to 2s lOd for whole, 2s Gd to 2s 7d for broken (sacks in). (_)»ts—Values in oats have improved fully Id per bushel. Prime milling,2s 4d to 2i 4Jd ; best feed, 2s 3Jd, and iu a few canes, 2a id ; medium to good, 2s 2d to 23 3d (sacks extra). Barley 11 consignments of barley find ready purchasers at prices in advance of late rates ; prime malting. Lakes, 2s 9d to 3s 3d; good, 2s Gd to 2s lOd; feed, la lid to 2s Id (sacks extra). Potatoes—Derwents are in moderate supply. Freshly-picked samples find ready purchasers at £4 to £4 5s per ton for the best and £3 to £3 10s per ton for medium to good linos. Chaff is vety scarce. Prime oaten sheaf is worth from £4 5s to £4 10s; medium to good, £3 to £4 per ton.

Sheepskins— Good pelted combing merinos, 4jd to 6d p6r lb; clothing merinos, 4d to 4Jd; halfbreds 3Jd ; croasbrods, 2Jd; loogwoole, 2d per lb. Hides—Extra prime ox, 5d to ojd per lb; prime ox, 4£d to 4|d ; mediam ox, 4d to 4f d ; light ox, 3f dto 3Jd; prime, cow, 4£d lo 4£d; medium cow, 3§d to 4d ; d«aiuged, 2§d to 3jd ; bull hides, l£d to 2gd ; calfehine, Is to 3s. Tallow and fat remain firm at late prices. DUNEDIN STOCK MARKETS. At the Burnside market, on Wednesday tho following business was transacted : Cattls—llß head of f.it cattla were yarded, incuding some well finished bullocks and heifers, for whioh there was a good demand. Others weie not eagerly sought after, and fe'l 10s to 15s per head. Besi bullocks, £lO to £ll 10s ; good, £9 to £9 17s 6d ; medium, £7 10s to £8 15s; light, £6 to £7 ; prime heifers, £8 to £9 12s 6d; good, £6 10a to £7 15s; light cows and heifers, £5 to £6. Fat Sheep—2272 fat sheep wer*> penned. Prime shorn brought last week's prices, but woolly medium quality shorn wethers and ewes of all descriptions declined fully Ib 6d per head. Prime wethers, shorn, 14s to 15s ; light 12a 6d to 13s 6d ; prime ewes, 13s to 14s; medium, lis 6d to 12s 6d ; inferior, 10s to lis. Fat Lambs penned. Best brought 12s 6d to 14); ordinary, 10s 6d to 12s; medium, 8s to 10s. Pigs.—243 pigs were penned, Racon pigs, 35s to 50s, extra large up to 60?; purkers, 24s to 345; stores, 16s to 22a ; slips, 12s to I£b ; suckers, 6s to 1 Is. NAPIER WOOL SALES. At the Napier Wool Sales in comparison with last year, price,} show a drop of 2d on bright and coarse wools, If d on logstained and coarse wool, and about 1-Jd for finer wools. Prices were :—Fine crossbred and half bred, 4d to sd; good conditioned crossbred, 3d to 3Jd ; logstained, 2d to 2|d ; pieces, 1-J 1 to 3d; bellies, Hd; to <J-id; locks, Id to l}d. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom ia26,350,000 quarters, and for the Ooutiuent 1,300,000 quarters.
