S.C. Dairy Factory.

The directors of the South Canterbury Dairy Factory Company met.on Wednesday in Timaru. Present: Messrs \. C.Thompson (chapman), Isitt, Aymes, Swaney, Howell, Bowie. Mr Hurdley arrived late in the sitting. Mr Dixon, factory manager, was idse present. Mr Aymes reported that he had made arrangements with Mr J. McKenna to cart milk from Seadown to the Temuka factory until the central factory is ready, when the milk will be railed to Timaru. A tender for making cream cans was received, and was considered too.high, and it was resolved to order a dozen from Dunedin. A first progress payment of £4OO was passed to Messrs Hunt and Werry, builders of the central factory The Stamp Department sent a notice that the fee of £5 for renewal of the company's annual license is due at the end of the month. Gunnion's tender for carting cheese from the Temuka factory to the railway station or to Timaru was accepted, and a price was fixed at which the cheese is to be sold. It was resolved that the Company advertise that as soon as the main factory " is started they will be prepared to supply pure pasteurised.milk. Messrs Luke and Co., Wellington, wired that they would ship boiler and engine by the first direct boat to Timaru, probably early next week. The manager submitted a list of fittings and requisites needed for the central factory, and he was authorised to procure them. Accounts were passed for payment.
