The Colonial Bank.
Wellington, Nov. 2. The Colonial Bank liquidators (Messrs W. B. Vigera and W. A. Simpson) have replied under date Dunedin, October 15th, to a letter from the Secretary to the Treasury, dated October 10th, inquiring as to the p sition of the liquidation of the Colonial Bank. The liquidators state that there remains “only one small matter to adjust with the Bank of New Zealand, which should be settled in a few days. We shall then take the first opportunity of appearing before a Judge of the Supreme Court and apply to him for leave to pay a final dividend, which wo expect to bo about Is 2d per share, making with the 10s already paid a total of 11s 2d per share, on which £2 had been paid. There has bean vexatious delay in bringing thi> liquidation to a close, but it has not been possib'e for the liquidators to expedite matters, law suits and legal delay being resposible ” The letter was laid on the table of the Legislative Council to-day.
