CRICKET.

A match was played at Temuka on Thursday afternoon, between teams representing Temuka and Timaru Cricket Clubs. Timaru won the toss, and commenced batting late in the afternoon, a start not being made till about half past tluee. Brosuahan’s second ball accounted for the first Timaru wicket, but tho next pair of batsmen, Cos and Mirimptoii, made the only stand of the innings, the former making 16, and the latter 14. Brosnahan and MeCaskill bowled throughout the innings, the former getting G wickets for 27 runs, and tho latter 4 for 21 Brosnahan and Feilden commenced Temuka’a innings, hut when 9 was ou the board the former batsman skied one which was snioly held by Malcolmson. Mendelsou was the next man in, and this wicket carried the score over Titnaru’s total; Feilden being bowled after contributing a well played 17. Men delson now commenced to hit out merrily, and the score mounted rapidly till on the call of time it stoo l at 111 for 0 wickets Temuka thus winning by 4 wickets and 55 runs.
