London, March 14. Reports from Pekin st'»to that France intends to occupy Lehan, a town on the oast coast of the Kwaugtung peninsula. March 15. Mr Curzou has announced that the Thames Ironworks Company are negotiating for a contract with Russia for the construction of a dockyard in the Baltic. No decision has yet been arrived at. Vienna reports that Austria aud Germany are willing to entrust Russia France and Britain with the tusk of arranging a settlement of the Cretan di**’culty. Italy’s attitude in the matter, however, is uncertain. St. Petersburg, March 14 The Novosti advocates the adoption by the Government of a moderate policy, urging that the colossal extension of her possessions will compromise Russia’s own interests. The Russian naval expenditure will be spread over a period of aeveu years.
