THE SYNODS.
Dunedin, November 5. At the Anglican Diocesan Synod a resolution was passed, cordially approving of tho views of the Bishop on the subject of prohibition as expressed in tho address. The Bible-iu Schools Committee reporced in favor of the formation of a league for the purpose of urging an amendment in tho Education Act so that religious iustructiou iu school might bo carried out ou the plan embodied iu tho Education Act of New South Wales. The report wan adopted.—A motion was moved approving of the suggestion of the Bishop with reference to tho consecration of an asfliatant-Bishop, Tho Presbyterian Synod concluded its sitting to-day. A committee was ap pointed to consider a proposal to establish an orphanage as a means of celebrating tho Jubiloo of tho Church, and another committee to consider tho other proposals to eolebrato that event.
