GERALDINE SALE.
XO THK EDIXOII. Siu, —Allow me through the lines of your valued paper to make a fow remarks about the state of things at our fortnightly sheep sale at Cloraldiuo. How is it that very little business is transacted I Well, I think one very good reasou ia that the public are afraid to bid while the present unsatisfactory system of uu -bona fide bidding exists. People know wplj enough that not one bid out of every leu is honest. I think that if the auctioneers wore to make a rule that whoever stock was knocked dowu to, if the price waa above the owner's reserve, should bo forced to take it, it would meet the case. If some rule similar to this was made and carried out dishonest bidding would cease, and it would bo vastly bettor for both auctioneers and public. Hoping some abler pen than mine will take up the subject, I am, etc., Dissatisfied,
