WOODBURY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Woodbury School Committee was held, at which Messrs , Dean (chairman), Flatman, Webb, i Cooling, Gick, Fiefield, and Harris were present. CORRESPONDENCE. ■ Correspondence was read and dealt i with as follows : From the Board of Education, re alteration of school boundaries, stating ■ that in the event of taxation the boun- . daries would be revised.—Proposed by > Mr Flatman, seconded by Mr Webb, and carried —“ That this committee consider the answer from the board very unsatisfactory, and that the board were not justified in the action they had taken without first having ascertained this committee’s views in the matter, and, therefore, respectfully request that the board adhere to the former boundaries.” From the same, advising that the sum of £5 had been placed to the committee’s credit, being the - incidentals for the quarter ending September; also forwarding summary of school attendance for period ending June, 1891, HEAD MASTER’S REPORT' , The head master’s report was read as follows : The Chairman School Commitee. The attendance for August has been well maintained. Boys. Girls. Total. Average ... 15 30 84 Number on roll 51 46 07 A few repairs are needed: (1) One of the chains on which the swing riles broke last week, and no doubt it will be advisable to renew both of them. In future I think it would be best to put in new rings at short intervals, say, every six or eight months. (2) one of the little trap doors through which the closet pan passes is broken off. (3) The boys’ urinal needs looking to. . . . Will you also be good enough to ask the /board to supply a set of mqdels for our use in model drawing. Without something of the kind it is impossible to treat the subject systematically, and as the pupil teacher has' to take up this branch ot tec subject for her examination next year some models are really indispensable. At the saine time please ask for a T square for blackboard work, size about 24 incnes.—l am, etc., Joseph Greaves. It was resolved to attend to the items asked for by Mr Greaves as soon as possible. ENTERTAINMENT. With regard to the entertainment, Mr Webb stated that he had been instructed to inform the committee *' that the Primitive Methodist choir will fulfil their promise by giving another entertainment in aid of the prize fund of the school. accounts. Accounts te the amount of £i 5s were passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
