AUCTIONEERS' REPORT. TIMARTJ. Mr Moss Jonas reports as follows: He is pleased to say that business ia again taking a turn for the better, and this he trusts will be the case for some time to come. Pleasant Point—At these yards be sold 90 maiden ewes at 10s 9d, 100 fat do 9s 3d, 200 do at 8s 6d, 194 2-tooths at 9s 9d, 108 fat ewes at 9s lid, 200 at7s6d, 102 lambs at 7s 6d, 115 fat ewes at Bs, 214 2-tooths at 9s 3d, 75 ' cull ewes at 4s Id, 20 fat B heep at 8a 3d, 64 do at 7s 9d. Cattle—He sold 3 steers at £4 10s, 4 do at £3 18s Bdoat£2 7s 6d, 14 do at 18s, and 1 j bull at £4, 25 pigs at 18s each, 10 do at 8s 6d, 5 do at 14s, and other smaller lines at the above prices. Newmarket Yards—At these yards there was a large entry of sheep", and a fair entry of cattle, but he had the greatest difficulty in disposing of any of the cattle ; in sheep, nearly every line that was disposed of went for good prices. He disposed of 201 ewes and lambs at 9s Bd, 248 merino wethers at 3s 2d, 108 ewes and lambs at 10s 2d 172 4 and 6-tooths at 9s 6d, 230 fat sheep at 9s, 62 wethers at 12s sd, 91 ewes at 8s 4d, 63 ewes and wethers at ( 8s 9d, 4 fat steers at £4 15s, 4 cows at £3 12s, 9 steers and heifers from 18 j months to two years' old 355, 1 milch cow £3.

Washdyke Yards—At the above yards things have been slack for seme time past, but no doubt when the harvest is over there will again be entries. During the last fortnight he has disposed of 460 fat ewes and wethers at the following prices :-260 fat ewes at 10s 3d, 75 do at 9 8 Gd, and 125 fat wethers at lis, 6 fat steers at 26d t^l ° a,3fatCoW3a

Sheepskina, Hides, and Fat—He has sold recently -.—Pelts 6d, 9d i 8 Is 6d, up to Is Bd, lambs' 1 B) 2s 3d 2s 6d, up to 3s 3d, full-woolled, 3 S ' 4s 6d, 6s, up to 7s 6d, and 6 bales of mixed wool from 8d to 9£d, 164 hides from Id to 3d per lb., 21 tons fat from 9s 6d to 16s per cwt, according to quality and condition.

Private Sales—Privately he sold on behalf of Mesßrs Mabin, Wm. Grant, Wm. Moore, George Botherway, w' Buddell, Meredith-Kay, Squires, Campbell, and others, the following numbers of sheep:—77 ewes at Bs, 12 lambs at 7s 6d, 325 wethers at 13 8 , 54 fat sheep at 8s 9d, 25 lambs at Bs', 61 do at 8s 6d, 50 do at 8s lid, 246 do

at 9s Id, 45 fat sheep at 8s 3d, 20 ewes at 7s 6d, 9 steers at £6, 1 heifer at £4 10s, 6 fat cows at £4 15s, and 7 steers £4 ss. He has Bold from the freezing works during the past fortnight, on behalf of Messrs Wm. Grant, M. Quinn, Oldfield, and others: 2370 skins (pelts) from 2s to 2s 6d, lambskins from 2s 6d to 3s 3d. ENGLISH MARKETS. LoHDOir, Feb. 6. ! The shipment of butter by the Austral was mostly damaged. Superior sorts are quoted at 96s to 108 s, inferior 50s to 60s. Australian wheat, ex, warehouse, 395, very restricted. Sugar, German beet, lis 9d : Java, 15s. No. 1 best Scotch pig iron f.o.b. in the Clyde, 52s 9d, active, Feb, 7. Six thousand five hundred quarters of wheat, January-February shipment have been sold at 35a. The butter market is depressed, and the market glutted with Australian. There is a poor demand. Fine is quoted at 106 a and medium at 80s. Quotations for frozen meat and wool remain unchanged.
