The total number attending the Exhibition on Thursday was 8162, of which 1549 paid at the turnstiles. An ordinary fire assay of quartz taken by Hobbs from Puhipuhi has been made at Auckland and has yielded 58 ozs of silver and 16 dwts of gold to the ton.
