DUNEDIN STOCK MARKETS.

At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the* following business was transacted i Fat Cattle--218 head were yarded to day, mostly medium weights and quality. Bidding all through the sales was brisk, but prices did not show any improvement. Bullocks sold at £4 7s 6d to £9 16s 0d ; cows, £3 5i to £7 2i 6d.— Messrs Donald Deid and Co. sold for Mr Andrew Grant (Temuka) 14 small nice quality bullocks at £6 5a to £7los. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. also report having sold privately on account of Mr James Guild (Trevenna, Temuka), 102 prime bullocks.—Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. sold for Mr Andrew Grant (Temuka), 7 bullocks at from £0 17s 6d to £9 10s. ' Fat Sheep—The supply consisted of 1163 crossbreds, 320 merinos, and 800 stores were also penned. The supply proved far below trade dsmands. In consequence, sales opened briskly at an advance of Is, and continued to rise all through, closing firm at Is 6d to 2a above last week’s. The quality in almost every instance was inferior to medium. Crossbreds sold at 8s to 14s 9d ; merinos, 5s fid to 10i. Lambs in store condition brought 4v6d each. Pigs—l7o yarded. ■ Baconers (grain fed) realised last week's prices, but porkers and half fafpigs were dull. Horses—Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co, quote first-class draughts at from £22 to £26 ; medium, £ls to £2O ; good, backs and light-harness horses, £8 to £j.2; inferior, £1 10a to £5.
