AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT.
GERALDINE. Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, Bth May, 1886 : On Tuesday we held a clearing sale of Live Stock, Implements, Furniture, etc., at Oakley Farm, Orari, on account of James Gregg, Esq. There was a very large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, and the result of the sale was very satisfactory. On Wednesday at the Geraldine Monthly Sale there was a large entry of both sheep and cattle, and prices realised showed a slight improvement in values. The total entries for the day were—26s2 sheep, 206 head of cattle, 17 store pigs. Prices realised were for 4-tooth crossbred wethers (fat), 8s ; store crossbred ewes, 2a Id to 3s Id ; 2-tooth crossbred store wethers, 6s ; crossbred lambs, Is 9d to 4s 3d ; cull merino ewes, 5d to 6d ; 3-year-old steers, forward stores, £4 ; far cows and heifers, £4 2s 6d to £6 ; 3-year-old steers and heifers, from £2 10s to £2 15s ; yearlings, £llls ; calves, 14s ; cows, springing and in full profit, £3 to £4 10s; store pigs, 5s to 7s. At Winchester Fair, on Thursday, there was an average entry of stock sent forward for the day’s ade, but at auction we have little huduesa to report. Privately NT«ral lots changed owners.
