TINWALD LIVE STOCK MARKET.
Mr E, G. Staveley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports on the Tinwald Stock Market for the 16th Mareh as follows :
At the Tinwald yards to-day 10,000 sheep and fair entries of pigs and cattle were brought forward. There was a large attendance, and a fair amount of interest was taken in the sale. Thete was no improvement in values. Sheep—Fat crossbred ewes 4s 6d, crossbred lambs from 28 6d to 4s Id, aged crossbred ewes Is 9d to 3s Bd, 4-tooth forward wethers 6s, do ewes ss, 2-tooth ewes 4s lOd, station merino ewes (good mouth) 2s Id, do wethers (in good condition) 2s Id, cull merino owes 6d and Is,
Pigs—Medium store pigs 14s, law do 245. Cattle—Fat cows from £4 to £6 7s 6d, fat bullocks £5 10s ; equal to 17s per lOOlbs. Some fair store cattle were yarded, but tho demand was slack.
