Whereas by Section 36 of the Town District Act, 1881, the Board is empowered to make By-Laws in manner provided with respect to Borough Councils by Part XII. of "The Municipal Corporations Act 1876,” and in relation to any matters comprised therein; the said Fart XII., together with any enactment passed in amendment of any of the provisions contained in the said Part, shall apply to any By-Laws made by any Board under this Act in relation to any of the aforesaid matters. 1. Any person wishing to erect « verandah or portico over any public footpath must, previous to commencing inch verandah or portico, obtain from the Board a written permission to do so. All verandahs or portiooi to bo erected over any. footpath shall be at least eight feet high, and shall extend to the keibing of the footpath. 3. No person shall open any drain or sewer, or remove the surface of any road or street, without lawful authority. 4. The owner or occupier of any land or building shall construct, and shall at all times thereafter maintain in good order and condition, gotten, spouts, and drains, so as to prevent any water from such land or buildings falling upon any street or footpath. And all crossings over side-channels and footpaths shall bo constructed under the supervision and approval of the Works Committee or any officer appointed by the Board, and kept in good order at the expense of'the o wner or occupier of premises using the seme 5. All drains under footways shall be constructed with such materials and of such dimensions as the Works Committee or any officer appointed by the Board may direct, and shall be laid with a fall of three (3) inches in Ike whole width of the footway, the level of the discharge mouth being the level of the water-ehanel. 6. Any person erecting any scaffolding or depositing any building materials or any other obstructions upon any street or footway shall, before doing so, put up such hoarding and fences as shall be approved of by the Works Committee or any officer appointed by the Board, so as to separate such scaffolding, bnilding materials or any other obstructions from the rest of the street or footway} and shall so maintain (he same and keep the same properly lighted, to the satisfaction of the Works Committee or any officer appointed by the Board, between sunset and sunrise, whilst ' such scaffolding, building materials or other obstructions shall be so constructed or deposited. 12, Every person licensed to erect any eqaffoldin'g or deposit any building materials op other obstructions, shall, at the expiration of such .license or in the last renewal thereof, remove such scaffolding, building materials, or other obstruction, and shall; make good the footway or street to the satisfaction of the Works Committee or any officer ap pointed by the Board, 13, No person shall draw or trail any 1 sledge, timber, or heavy material upon or along any street or road, to the injury of such street or road. 14.. No~person ehall erect any building, fence, hedge or trees, on any road or footpath, -and any person allowing any existing building, fence,hedge, or trees,, to remain on or to overhang any road or. footpath, shall i remove the same vrithin fourteen;(l4) days 'after receiving notice in writing under (be hand of the Works Committee or any officer appointed by the Board. The owner or oo oupier of any property fronting on a street or road shall keep half the width of such , road or street opposite his property clear from I gorse and broom. 16. No person shall turn loose or tether any horse or cattle upon any public street, or allow any animal or animals to wander on any public street or thoroughfare within the district 16. No person shall do. or permit, or suffer any of the following acts, defaults, or omissions, in or upon any street, private street or public place witbin the district (1) Throw or leave any nightsoil, dirt, paper, rubbish, or other offensive matter, or ma’ter of a similar nature. (21 Dispharge.any Alarms, or let fift any fireworks of any kind whatever without lawful cause or authority; throw ordisoharge any stone or other missile to the damage or danger of any person or pro perty, or discharge any catapult or shanghai; (3) Ride or drive any horse or vehicle furiously ; (4) Bide, drive, or lead any horse, or other animal or vehicle on a footway • (5) Ride on any cart, dray, or waggon, being the person in charge thereof, with • out having or bolding proper and suffi eiont reins; (6) Cause any obstruction by allowing any vehicle or animal to rem >in across any street or footway, or by placing or leaving any goods, materials, or other things thereon; (7) Deposit any material or obstructions of any kind in any street or public place without the written consent of the Board; (8) Leave any hole, excavation or dangerous formation in or near any street or public place without fencing or enclosing the same, and keeping the same properly lighted from sunset to sunrise. 17. No building shall be licensed for any public performance or other purpose until it has been inspected by the Works Committee, or any officer appointed by the Board, and approved ; and all licensed buildings may be inspected by the Works Committee, or any officer appointed by the Board, from time to time, and cuoh alterations must be mrd© as {
