RAUKAPUKA LICENSING COMMITTEE.
The quarterly meeting of the Raukapuka Licensing Bench was held in the Courthouse, Geraldine, on Thursday last. Present—The Hon. L. Walker, Dr Fish, and Messrs W. U. Slack, W. S, Masliu, and C. G. Tripp, ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN. This being tne first meeting of the newiy-elected Committee, the Clerk to ihe Board, Mr 0, E. Sherrait, took the ch iir, and (he election of a Chairman was then proceeded with. The Hon, L. Walker moved, Mr Tripp seconded, and it was carried—“ That Mr Slack be elected Chairman for the enauiag year.” DATES OP QUARTERLY MEETINGS, It was resolved on the motion of the Hon. L. Walker, seconded by Dr Fish—- “ That the quarterly meeting of the Bench should be held at noon on the first Wednesday in June, September, December and March.” inspector’s report. The Inspector's report on the licensed houses in the district was read and considered, the only complaint being the defective state of the roof of the Crown Hotel, Geraldine.
The Bauch remarked that the same complaint had been made for some years. The attendance of the licensee was requested, and the Bench informed him that an iron roof would have to be substituted for the present shingle one before the meeting in June next. HILTON HOTEL. Mrs Jane Tindall applied for leave to carry on the license ef the Hilton Hotel for a further period of three months.— Granted. APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER. An application for a transfer of the license of the Rangitau' Bridge Hotel from J. J. Daily to D. Dsdoon was granted. This being all the business the meeting terminated.
