London, Jan. 6. A conference between the AgenlsGeneral for the Australian colonies and Mr Barker, with refereac* to the conditions of the proposed Federal mail service between Great Britain and Australia, took place to-day. The Agents-General approved of the conditions, and it has been arranged that tenders for the transport o. mails between England and the colo niea shall forthwith be advertised for. It has been ascertained that the major portion of members of the Liberal party are opposed to the suggestion that an Irish Parliament should be established. Jan. 7. It is announced that the Ministry intend to introduce three separate measures providing for local Government in England, Scotland and Ireland respectively. The Queen has notified to the Commissioners ef the Colonial Indian Exhibition her willingness to become patron cf the Exhibition. Jan. 30. The leading members of the Liberal party meet in conference on Monday next for the purpose of discussing the policy to be adopted by the party in Parliament with regard to the agitation in Ireland and other prominent questions.
