Tallis Wins D.K. Cup In Ex-Service Golf

E. G. Tallis, New Plymouth, won the principal event, the D.K. Cup, at _ the combined Taranaki Diggers' and Kiwis' golf tournament at the Ngamotu links, New Plymouth, yesterday with a card of 85-9-76. Despite the weather a representative entry of 70 players from all parts of Taranaki took part, but in the conditions good scoring was out of the question. Other prizewinners were:— VE Handicap, single stableford: Senior, W. F. Roebuck; junior, N. Tailby. Vj Handicap, four-ball best ball bogey: E. Armstrong and H. G. McDonald. Retreads Handicap, veterans of two wars: G. J. McNaught. Best gross medal: Morning, P. J. Dixon; afternoon, F. D. Johns. Blighty Cup: Senior, T. H. Armitage; junior, L W. Lovell. Esprit de corps handicap, teams match: F. D. Johns, G. Ritchie, E. G. Tallis and A. K. Robertshaw. Mug's prize: R. Sampson.
