Culling Sows.
Do not, necessarily ctill brood sows because they are poorest in condition. At the Beltsville station, records of 700 sows. over a nine-year period indicate that the sows which gained fastest during the gestation period tended to farrow the largest number of pigs. In the same observation it was also noticed that the heavier producing sows lost more weight during the suckling period.
