PLANTING TIME
LIMITED LIFE OF TREES RENEWING THE BUSH New Zealand will celebrate its centenary this year. When the early settlers of Taranaki took up the land they purchased or leased most of them felled j all the bush in sight. Round their home- j steads and to serve as shelter belts many j of. them, however. planted other trees. It was tree planting time then. Be- I cause so many of those trees have outiived their sptn of life or have been felled for timber and firewood. it is tree planting time in Taranaki again.
