auckland flood damage further heavy rains

Auckland, Last Night. Road and rail services in the Auckland province interrupted by the heavy rain on Thursday Were for the most part restored to-day, but further heavy rain over a wide area late in the afternoon caused complicatipns and further blockages on a number of main routes. Though a number of roads on the east coast in the north were still blocked, those on the west coast were open and all rail services had been resumed. Extremely heavy rain fell for about two hours this afternoon.
