YOUNG ACROBATS.
THE HEAD STAND. The head stand is, perhaps, the simplest balance you can do by yourself. Bend down and place the liands on the ground, fingers pointing forward, hands shoulder width apart. Rest the forehead on the ground a little in front of the hands, and then swing the legs up, either together or one at a time, until you are in a balance. The correct starting position is important, for the hands and head should form the three points of a triangle. This will give you the greatest possible support.
Remember to rest on the forehead. Ii you put the top of the head on the ground, you are liable to roll over. Try it against a wall at first, or with a friend kneeling down and graspini your hips to steady you. Find a sofl spot to practise the first few atternpts.
