HUMPHRIES — PLOWRIGHT.

The wedding was solemnised at St. Mary's Church, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, June 16, of Elsie Olive Mary, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Plowright, Bell Block, and Charles William Neil, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Humphries, formerly of Opunake and

now of -Bell" Block; The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon G. H. Gavin and Mr. R. N. Renaud was at the organ. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her father, wore a 1 frock of ivory spotted satin, cut simply oh slimfitting lines with a creme lace yoke finished at the neck with a posy of creme velvet flowers and lace,* leg-o'-mutton . sleeves fitting tight at the wrist finished with a peak over i the hand. Godets of lace were set' into the back of the skirt and fell to form a slight train. A coronet of orange blossom held in place a long tulle veil, and she carried a bouquet of freesias and winter roses. The bride was attended by Miss Gloria Humphries, Wellington, sister of the bridegroom, as chief bridesmaid; She wore a gown of pink cloque crepe and vieux rose georgette, cut on Elizabethan lines with a stancj-up collar of . vieux rose and finished at the neck with a spray of pink flowers and silver leaves. She wore a bandeau of pink flowers and carried an arm sheaf of pink sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Miss Colleen Huggett, New Plymouth, cousin of the bride, was second bridesmaid. Her frock was of mauve cloque, crepe and purple dull finished satin, cut on similar lines with a low neckline, with purple flowers adorning the shoulders. She wore a bandeau ofs mauve and purple flowers and carried an arm sheaf of mauve sweet peas, purple violets and maidenhair fern. Little Felicia Humphries, the flower girl, was gowned in a frock of apple green rosemary crepe finished with pink and green flowers at the neckline. She wore a bandeau of pink and green flowers and carried a posy of pink and mauve flowers and maidenhair fern. Mr. A. Huggett. New Plymouth, was best man, and the groomsman was Mr. R. Humphries, Opunake. / A reception was held at the Hygienic tea rooms. The guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a bottle green ensemble with hat and accessories to match. She carried a posy of autumn tonings. The bridegroom's mother wore a frock of floral wine crepe with coat to match and fawn hat and accessories. Her posy was of red geraniums, blue violas and maidenhair fern. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Humphries left for the north, the bride travelling in a navy blue tailored costume with hat, shoes and accessories to match. Mr. and Mrs. Humphries' home will be at Opunake.
