Mrs. H. P- Wills and Mrs. R. Darling liave returned home after spending a few days at Foxton. Mrs. J. H. Morton was a bridge hostess on Monday night. Mrs. A. Tiplady left during the week for a holiday in the Auckland district. Mrs. P. de Launay was hostess at bridge on Mpnday afternoon. Mrs. A. Murray, Dannevirke, is the guest of her sister, Miss J. Salmon. Mrs. Shalders was a bridge hostess during the week. Mrs. Harrison, Auckland, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. J. Campbell. Miss M. Good all, formerly of the nursing staff of the Masterton hospital, is spending a few days with her aunt, Mrs. R. H. Gower, before commencing duties at the Dunedin hospital. Among those who journeyed to the Stratford golf ball on Tuesday night were Mesdames H. Turner, F. Clemow, Leo Quin, C. C. Stanners, E. Hastelow, V. Illingworth, S. Hinty, J. Arthur, Misses E. May, P. Stewart, P. Nowell, A. Carrie, E. Peebles, P. Mann, N./Arthur, G. Silver, E. Rest. Mrs. G. H. P. Fitzgerald left to-day t.o spend a few days at Palmerston North. Mrs. Harrison, Auckland, Mrs. J. Campbell, Mrs. J. H. Morton, Mrs. D. Saunders and Mrs. B. Brown were Mrs. S. E. Carson's guests on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. P. de Launay is spending a few days at New Plymouth. Miss D. Riddle was hostess at a mixed bridge party on Tuesday night. Mrs. Kirk, Pukengahu, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. J. Kirk. Mrs. Knight, who has been the guest cf Mrs. Close, has returned to her home at New Plymouth. A flag five hundred evening was held on Tuesday in aid of the Rawhitiroa hall funds. Players at the winning table were Mesdames S. Knuckey, G. H. Robinson and Messrs. J. Campbell and T. Saunders.
