LOWER GRADE RUGBY

PLAY-OFF IN SOUTHERN JUNIOR. FIRST SEMI-FINAL ARRANGED. Junior and third grade Rugby competitions in Taranaki have still to be completed, and it is likely that Hawera and Tukapa will meet in the third grade final at Eltham on Saturday. This will te a replay of their match at Stratford, .which was called off ten minutes before the end because of torrential rain. The junior grade is not so far advanced, the southern section winner still having to be found; Kaponga and Hawera will play off in this division at Eltham cn Saturday. The first semi-final between Gld Boys (northem) and Stratford (central) will be played at Stratford on Saturday as a curtain-raiser to the Tara-naki-Canterbury game and presumably weStern and southern winners will meet on August 14. This would make it possible to play. tlie final on August 21.
