CAMPAIGN IN GERMANY CHARGES OF - CORRUPTION "HAUNTS OF DEPRAVITY" STORIES ABOUT PRIESTS
Berlin, April 29. The concerted attack on the Catholic CItutcIi Is interpreted. to mean a. renewal of the campaign against the Church. inflammatory headlines, for example the Volkischer Beobachter's "Churches and monasteries debased to haunts of depravity," introduce stories announcing that over 1000 priests or members of Catholic orders are in prison awaiting trial on charges of immorality. The newspaper adds: "It is not a question of individual cases, but the whole system which is corrupt."
