ANOTHER PACKED HOUSE. Ihe popularity Oi Stahley McKay's Gaieties was again dcmonstfated by a packed Opera House last night, When the ihial production at New Plymouth, "A Brighter 1937," was presented. Much on the same lines as the tWo previous performances, "A Brighter 1937" sparkled With humoUr, good patter,( lively scenes and snappy numbers from start to finish. Again the Australian comedian Joe Lawman was the centre of evefything, and his many impromptu and informal actions and repartee had the crowd roarittg continuously. Lawman was ably supported by Stella Lamond, whose reputation as a "Personality Girl" was more than upheld last night. She "held" the audience whenever she apeared by her wonderful stage personellty, ready wit and general attractiveness, and greatly increased her popularity with . the New Plymouth public. The Hilo .Duo proved very popular, especially with renderings of request numbers from the audience. The ballets v/ere also good, and other artists whn contrlbuted to the success of tlie show were the Warren Bros., the Flying Martinettis, Elton Black, Cy Pier, HarryHemming, Hcather Bright, Elvy Ferguson and Mr. G. Corelli. An extra 'note of gaiety was added at the conclusion of the performance by . the ffee exchange of streaihers. The Gaieties will play at Eltham this afternoon and to-night and at Hawera on Monday and Tuesday nights.
