PARTY AT NORMANBY
COMING-OF-AGE' CELEBRATED. Mr. and Mrs. R. Flintoff entertained about 40 guests at their home in'honour of the 21st birthday of Mr. A. McGrady. The rooms were gaily decorated with brightly coloured streamers. Mrs. Flintoff wore a cherry marocain frock. The evening was spent in dancing and playing games and competitions, Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss Loader and Mr. R. Christian and Miss N. Loader and Mr. Dingle. Mr. W. Geary won an exciting balloon race. An elopement competition was won by Miss Edna Flintoff and Mr. T. Hurley. Songs were given by Misses E. Walden and N. Loader, and yodelling by Mr. I. Cadman. Community singing was led by Mr. F. Scott. Mr. W. J. Taylor was master of ceremonies. The guest of honour cut the handsomely iced birthday cake, the gift of Mrs. Flintoff. His health was proposed by Mr. Hurley, and he was presented with a key. Congratulations and good wishes were also expressed by Messrs. Taylor and Oswald. Mr. McGrady thanked the speakers, and especially thanked Mr. and, Mrs. Flintoff.
